How to Delete or Deactivate your Couchsurfing Account

As of my last knowledge update in January 2022, Couchsurfing provides users with the option to deactivate their accounts rather than a direct deletion option. Here are the steps to deactivate your Couchsurfing account:

  1. Login to Couchsurfing:
  2. Access Account Settings:
    • Once logged in, click on your profile picture in the top right corner to open the account menu.
  3. Go to Account Settings:
    • From the dropdown menu, select “Settings.”
  4. Deactivate Account:
  5. Follow Instructions:
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the account deactivation process.
  6. Confirm Deactivation:
    • Couchsurfing may ask you to confirm your decision to deactivate your account. Confirm if prompted.
  7. Wait for Confirmation:
    • You should receive an email confirming the deactivation of your account.

Please note that the steps and options may have changed since my last update in January 2022. If you can’t find the account deactivation option or if there are any changes to the process, I recommend checking Couchsurfing’s official help documentation or contacting Couchsurfing support for the most accurate and up-to-date information.

Keep in mind that deactivating your Couchsurfing will make your profile and information temporarily unavailable, but it won’t result in the permanent deletion of your data. If you wish to delete specific data or have concerns about your privacy, you may want to review Couchsurfing’s privacy policy or contact their support for guidance.
